Conchata Ferrell, perhaps best known as the straight-talking housekeeper Berta in the long-running sitcom Two and a Half Men, has sadly passed away at the age of 77.
Ferrell passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Sherman Oaks hospital on October 12th, due to complications following a cardiac arrest.
Born in Loudendale, West Virginia in 1943, Ferrell began her career on the stage appearing in off-Broadway productions where she won multiple awards.
In film, the actress starred alongside Lili Taylor and Julia Roberts in the 1988 film Mystic Pizza, as well as supporting roles in movies such as Edward Scissorhands, True Romance, Mr. Deeds and Erin Brockovich.
Ferrell earned her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Susan Bloom in L.A. LAW in 1992.
A further two Emmy nominations came her way as a result of playing Berta, Charlie Harper's no nonsense housekeeper in the hit CBS show Two and a Half Men, in which she was a standout character.
Conchata Ferrell is survived by her husband Arnie Anderson, daughter Samantha and two step-daughters.
