What the hey?!
Has Mortal Kombat just found a way to bring me, an admittedly lapsed fan, back into the fold?
Well, probably not...but they are making a solid case.
Not only do they already have 80's icons Robocop and the T-800 from Terminator, but now they've recruited one John Rambo.
And if that weren't enough, he will be voiced by the actor that made him an action movie legend, Sylvester Stallone.
While this is a wildly divergent step away from the original character who appeared in First Blood (as were the Rambo sequels), the trailer did get me a little bit excited.
Rambo comes as a DLC as part of the 'Kombat Pack 2' along with returning characters Rain and Mileena.
The DLC will be including along with Kombat Pack 1 and Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition (available for pre-order from October 15).
You can see (and hear!) Rambo make his appearance in the trailer below.
John Rambo first appeared in the 1972 novel 'First Blood' by David Morrell.
A decade later the movie of the same name came out grossing $125 million off of a $15 million budget. It has been followed by 4 sequels of varying quality, with the most recent being the 2019 misfire 'Rambo: Last Blood'.
