Anya Taylor-Joy Cast in Title Role of Fury Road Prequel 'FURIOSA'

Mad Max: Fury Road exploded into theaters back in 2015, a visual feast of practical stunts, and just a damn cool road trip movie. And while Max was the title character, the story really followed the story of Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa as she liberates a group of women from the clutches of her tyrannical master Immortan Joe.

What follows is an action-packed race through the post-apocalyptic deserts in search of 'The Green Land'....man, I really wanna go watch this again now...

The movie was a critical and commercial hit, currently still holding a critics rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 90% on Metacritic.

Now, after a rocky road to getting it off the ground, George Miller, creator and director of the Mad Max series, has started to put together his cast for the prequel/spin-off ‘FURIOSA’.

Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, Glass) has been tapped to play the younger version of Theron’s character.

Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Extraction) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, upcoming Matrix 4 and Candyman) have also been cast in as yet unspecified roles.

Miller will direct, produce and co-write the film which will be released through Warner Bros.
