Deadline is reporting that the Emmy and Annie award winning writing team of Bob's Burgers, sisters Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin, have been tapped to write Deadpool 3 which will bring Ryan Reynolds titular superhero into the Disney fold.
Over the last month Reynolds has been meeting with a handful of writers to hear pitches for the threequel. The studio and Reynolds saw the sisters take as the perfect fit for what they wanted.
Obviously Deadpool 3 is a ways off yet still, but signing the Molyneux sisters marks a big step forward in seeing the Merc with a Mouth return to the big screen.
It's thought Deadpool 3 will remain in line with the first two installments and retain an R-rating so how or if it will fit into the MCU remains to be seen.
The Molyneux sisters are also the creators and showrunners of The Great North, which is set to premiere in February 2021. The animated series will feature the voice talents of Nick Offerman (Parks and Rec), Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) and Jenny Slate (Big Mouth).
Are you keen to see more adventures of The Merc With A Mouth? Who in the MCU would you want to see Deadpool crossover with (keeping in mind it would have to movie down to a lower rating)?
